22nd / 23rd June - LERWICK Thank you for your interest in visiting and hashing with us in the most northerly part of the UK in the land of the “Simmer Dim” – the Shetland Isles. During midsummer, or as we call it the “Simmer Dim” the sun never truly sets - yes its light all night! Our “Simmer Dim” hash weekend takes place annually on the weekend of the longest day of the year and coincides this year with the now infamous “Motorcycle Rally”. Our weekend itinerary is based again this year in Lerwick and as follows: Friday 21st June:

The fee for visiting hashers (over 18’s only) - £180 for registrations and payments received before 31/12/23 and £210 for registration received after that date. Fee includes the cost of 1 nights stay in the Islesburgh “5 star” Youth Hostel. The fee for local hashers varies depending on events attended over the weekend. Our offer to all includes two fantastic hash runs, food and drink for the weekend, bus transport, evening entertainment and your special 2024 Simmer Dim gift. Note: the program is subject to change depending on numbers registering so the more the merrier! WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO – Book and pay for your own travel to and from Shetland.

The two options are: Northlink Ferries – This is a daily over night service between Aberdeen and Lerwick and vice versa. The ferry facilities include berths, sleeping pods and on-board recliners (all bookable and subject to availability). There are onboard restaurants, bars, a cinema and a shop. Whilst travel dates are of course at your discretion the usual Simmer Dim weekend sailings for this year are:- Friday 21st June Departs Aberdeen at 19:00 arriving in Lerwick at 07:30 Sunday 23rd June Departs Lerwick at 19:00 arriving in Aberdeen 07.00. Check in time: One hour prior to sailing. If taking this route can we request that you breakfast on board in the morning then disembark the ferry in Lerwick at 8:00am – not before! Note - we hope to be in a position very shortly to provide you with a discount code for booking with Northlink Ferries. If our application is successful we will update the website immediately but in the meantime please go ahead and book your fare as space on the ferry is booking fast. Please ensure you book through Loganair direct and not any other company.
